the Puddle

One a dark day after work many years ago, I went outside on my stoop to drink a beer and smoke an American Spirit in the rain.

I looked down and notice a puddle that was perfectly shaped like a rabbit. I sat out there for a long time, had another beer, a few more smokes, and pondered life with rabbit.

I finally had to go in and cook dinner. Everytime it rained after that, I would go outside to see if the rabbit was there. I never saw it again.

The conditions had to be perfect - the rain was just the perfect measure of steady, the ground was firm but not frozen. It was a little bit of magic.

Now I want to share that magic with you, here, so you remember you are never alone too...
